Renewing Us Foundations Program
Terms and Agreements
Your experience in the Renewing Us Foundations Program depends upon a high degree of trust between you, your coach, and your fellow group members. This document is designed to clearly explain what to expect and to establish shared expectations that support a safe, respectful, and effective group environment.
Understanding the Renewing Us Foundations Program
The Renewing Us Foundations Program is a structured small group coaching program designed to support individuals and couples healing from relational betrayal. The program focuses on establishing the foundational elements of recovery — particularly honesty, emotional safety, regulation, and consistency — during a highly sensitive early phase of healing.
This program prioritizes individual stabilization and personal responsibility. While couples may enroll simultaneously, joint participation is not required, and the program is not designed to replace couples therapy or crisis intervention.
Participants are invited into a process of increased self-awareness, ownership, and relational insight within a trauma-informed and structured environment. You will have opportunities to explore patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that influence how you relate to yourself and others.
Program objectives include, but are not limited to:
-
Developing skills to support recovery and emotional regulation
-
Experiencing normalization and support within a small group setting
-
Increasing understanding of personal and relational patterns
-
Identifying thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that hinder healing
-
Building honesty, accountability, and emotional safety over time
You may share as much or as little as you choose. Participation is encouraged but never forced. Questions are welcome at any time.
The Role of Your Coach
Our approach to small group coaching is grounded in the belief that growth occurs best within safe, structured community.
Your coach’s role is to:
-
Create and maintain a respectful, emotionally safe environment
-
Guide group discussion and structure the coaching process
-
Encourage honesty, accountability, and appropriate vulnerability
-
Support balanced participation among members
If at any time you feel unsafe, blocked, or uncertain about your participation, you are encouraged to speak directly with your coach. Your feedback matters and is welcomed.
Benefits of Participation
Participation may result in increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, healthier relational patterns, and greater clarity around recovery goals.
Change takes time. Your willingness to participate consistently, engage honestly, and receive feedback will influence your progress. Results develop gradually and vary by individual.
Risks of Group Participation
Group coaching can involve emotional discomfort. You may experience sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, grief, frustration, or other strong emotions. These experiences are a normal part of recovery work.
If emotional distress arises in a way that interferes with participation, please discuss this with your coach. Strong reactions toward other group members or your coach may occur and should be addressed appropriately within the group setting.
If you believe this small group environment is not the right fit for you, please speak with your coach about alternative support options.
Confidentiality
You have the right to confidentiality from your coaches. Coaches adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of confidentiality.
Confidentiality within the small group setting is a shared responsibility. While coaches are legally and ethically bound to confidentiality, other group members are not. Confidentiality among participants relies on mutual trust and respect.
Exceptions to confidentiality include:
-
Risk of serious harm to yourself or others
-
Suspected abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult
-
Court orders or other legal requirements
As a participant, you agree not to disclose identifying information about other group members outside of the group. This includes names, personal details, and specific content shared during sessions.
